The customization you can achieve in PoE is very high, the only problem with it is that you have to level up any skills you don't have from scratch and you can possibly lose a build you were using just by upgrading gear. It's like liking multiple flavors of ice cream, I guess. I still find D3 more preferable to any other similar game, but I do enjoy each ARPG for its own flavor. It's very well done, honestly, even though it lacks a lot of polish that could make it great. ![]() Wolcen is alright too, I think it plays great but the knockoff Warhammer aesthetic didn't do it for me.After coming from the PoE Open Beta Weekend, I'd have to say the game really does impress especially when you consider it's Indie developed and is Free to Play. Last Epoch is also pretty good, but still a work in progress. Honestly, I'd recommend Diablo 3, Torchlight 2, and Grim Dawn before either of them. You can look up builds if you like, but that's a pretty boring way to start one of these games the first time through. ![]() That's not to say you can't just pick up and play it, but you're either going to open the skill tree and go "nope" or just shrug, dump a point somewhere, and continue on. It's worth noting that PoE isn't exactly a casual game either. If you want to make a good look, be prepared to drop $30 per full armor set In game item models for weapons and armor are not abundent and are heavily recycled. ![]() PoE is a whole lot of game, but it has two fatal flaws for me:ġ) Gameplay-wise it just doesn't have good game feel compared to its contemporariesĢ) Its cosmetics situation is fucked. It doesn't feel nearly as smooth to play as Diablo 3 and I'm not sure it'll get there, but it is fine if you've exhausted your ARPG options. Diablo Immortal, on PC at least, is not ready for prime time.
